here we go again, darling:
time for another round.
bottoms up, my dear,
because it's time for another shot:
shot to the heart,
that is
i want to break your heart
like glass:
smash it against the floor,
stomp on it. twice.
walk out the door
with middle fingers raised
and a wild, untamed heart
but no,
i play our game
(time for another round, darling,
let's play til we die)

Howl
Tonight is a full moon
and in a car with closed windows, this could be any shit-kicking town
the man next to me is any other lumberjack
the girl in my seat is another small town misfit chasing an escape
we are riding West
toward stars
and nothing
but distance
and oblivion
my Howl chokes inside
the urge to strip naked and run
through trees, past neighborhoods, over bridges, and down streets
to the ocean
to return
to be baptized again
and again and again
until the salt and piss and whale semen eat away at this,

Once Upon a Time
Once upon a time,
There was a little girl,
She had a family, friends,
And all the time in the world.
Once upon a time,
The little girl's family fell apart in a day,
Her father walked out, her mother was never home,
And her siblings pushed her away.
Once upon a time,
As the little girl grew up,
She started having less time,
And she was always in a rush.
The little girl became a teen,
And all of her friends left her life,
Everyone started bullying her,
And she turned to the knife.
Once upon a time,
The teen missed that little girl,
But she was gone forever,
Distorted by the world.
Once upon a time,
The teen remembered how she had it all,

looking inward
And then the day came
The day my mind opened
Just the smallest of a break
So that I could see inside my own thoughts,
As if I were an outsider looking in.
And what I discovered
Was truly disturbing...
A Pandoras box
Of jumbled thoughts
Of half planned ideas.
This tiny crack revealed
A child's misunderstanding
Of what was true
And what was not.
I saw that I allowed others
To control my every action
My every thought
As if they owned me.
I saw how I let others lead me/use me.
How I trusted so easily
To totally trust
Without reason. I saw the people I had let into my life
I saw them as they really were
Life suckers who had almost drained
